Lauren LaChapelle (b. 1996), from Coppell, TX, received her undergraduate degree in Bassoon Performance from the University of North Texas in 2019. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at UNT under Kathleen Reynolds. At UNT she has performed with the UNT Wind Symphony,
Symphony Orchestra, and Opera Orchestra as well as various chamber groups. She can be heard on multiple CDs with the UNT Wind Symphony such as Tailor Made and Hope, featuring Dallas Symphony Orchestra principal trumpet player Ryan Anthony. In 2015 she performed at the Midwest Clinic with the UNT Wind Symphony. In 2018 she performed at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) with the UNT Symphony Orchestra and returned in 2019 to perform with the UNT Wind Symphony featuring the world renowned brass quintet, the Canadian Brass. Aside from her studies at UNT, she is a private lesson teacher in the North Texas area as well as a freelance musician.
